Privacy-first by design
travelguides.lk is built to minimise data. The saved places, itineraries, expenses and preferences you create are stored on your own device (in your browser), not on our servers, and you can clear them at any time. You do not need an account to use the core Service.
What is involved
Like all websites, when your browser loads the Service it shares basic technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type. If you use "near me" or map features, your browser asks permission to use your approximate location, which is used on your device. We do not ask for payment card or government ID details.
Cookies & consent
We use only strictly necessary storage by default (to remember your consent choice and preferences). Anything non-essential runs only with your consent via the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.
Third-party services
To function, the app loads resources from third parties (for example map tiles, fonts, icons and flag or logo images). When your browser requests these, the provider necessarily receives your IP address. We link out to official and third-party sites governed by their own policies.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose data only to run the Service, to comply with law, or in connection with a business transfer.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or restrict your data and to withdraw consent. Because most of your data lives only on your device, you can exercise many of these directly by clearing your browser storage. For anything we hold, email [email protected].
Children & changes
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We may update this policy; the date below reflects the latest version.
